So what’s the story? It all started way back when Right Said Fred were too sexy for their shirts and Downhill wasn’t even part of the World Cup. Yep, way back in 1991 Rex and Marilyn Trimnell got things started with X-Lite UK.

Fast forward, and, in case you haven’t noticed, we do a bit more than our original pink cleaner these days. We have an amazing range of lubricants, sprays, apparel and even antibacterial products – you name it, we’ve got it!

Since being founded in 1989, making parts for other companies, Hope now manufactures almost every part for a bicycle including hubs, brakes, headset, stems, bottom brackets and lights.

All parts are proudly manufactured in Hope’s Barnoldswick factory which is a true state of the art facility. They have almost 100 staff operating the factory 24-7, running the 55 CNC machines, anodising the individual components and hand assembling the finished parts.

Manufacturing all products on site gives Hope total control on quality and delivery schedules.

Clif Bar and Company was inspired by a day-long, 175 mile bike ride in 1990. While taking a bite of another energy bar, company founder Gary Erickson, found himself struggling to take a bite of the bland and uninspiring bar, thinking to himself "I could make a better bar than this".

With that "Epiphany” in mind, Gary set about creating the recipe for a superior energy bar. The rest is history!
